Stability AI Raises $76 Million From Entertainment and Tech Giants
Stability AI, the developer of the Stable Diffusion image-generation model, has expanded beyond images into tools for music, video and broader creative production. The backing from major record labels and a leading videogame publisher is significant as media companies weigh how generative AI can fit into professional workflows while addressing intellectual-property, licensing and artist-compensation concerns.
Stability AI said it completed a $76 million Series B funding round, bringing its total capital raised to $232 million. Investors included Universal Music Group, Sony Music, Warner Music Group, Electronic Arts and AMD Ventures. The company plans to use the fresh capital to expand its creative-production products and professional services across music, video and image generation.
