Open-Source Project ai-hedge-fund Uses 19 AI Agents to Simulate Hedge Fund Decisions

The open-source GitHub project ai-hedge-fund uses a multi-agent architecture in which AI agents modeled on the investment philosophies of Warren Buffett, Charlie Munger, Cathie Wood and others divide up market research tasks. Positioned as an educational and research tool, the project reflects the gradual adoption of generative AI in financial analysis and investment decision-making.

As of July 20, 2026, ai-hedge-fund had integrated 19 AI agents that generate trading assessments from perspectives including value investing, growth investing, fundamental analysis and risk management. The project had also accumulated more than 56,000 stars on GitHub. Its developers caution that the system should not be used directly as the basis for investing real money.
