American Bitcoin Buys 11,298 Miners, Boosting Capacity by 12%
Trump family-backed American Bitcoin (ABTC) focuses on accumulating Bitcoin and expanding its mining operations. While several miners are redirecting power and data-center resources to AI computing, ABTC continues to invest in ASIC miners. The strategy distinguishes its bet on Bitcoin mining and has drawn market attention to its added hashrate.
ABTC has purchased 11,298 ASIC miners for an undisclosed amount and expects to deploy them in Alberta, Canada, in March 2026. The new equipment could increase the company's mining capacity by about 12% and raise its share of global Bitcoin hashrate by roughly 0.3%. Its shares surged more than 12% at one point after the announcement.

American Bitcoin (ABTC) is a Trump family-backed Bitcoin miner whose operating performance is heavily influenced by Bitcoin prices, mining costs and asset revaluations. The company holds more than 6,000 Bitcoin. Its financial results reflect not only the state of its mining operations but also serve as a key gauge of the Trump family’s cryptocurrency interests.
