Cardano Foundation's 1,090 BTC Unaccounted For as Creditor Investor Demands Transparency
The Cardano Foundation reportedly received about 1,090 BTC during its 2015 initial coin offering. The custody and use of these early fundraising assets affect the interests of contributors, ADA holders and creditor investors. Creditor investor Thomas Braziel has therefore called on the foundation to provide a full accounting of the funds and identify their ultimate beneficiaries.
The latest dispute centers on the continued lack of a verifiable account of the 1,090 BTC following the Cardano Foundation's dissolution in 2025. Braziel recently issued a public demand for disclosure of the fund flows. During the same period, the Cardano ecosystem has faced several other pressures, including its founder taking a break, ADA falling to a low and the shutdown of its leading DeFi protocol.
