Cardano

Cardano is a research-driven, proof-of-stake blockchain platform whose native token is ADA. It recently transferred responsibility for core development as it continued to advance decentralization, while pursuing initiatives involving Bitcoin Layer 2, Bitcoin DeFi and the privacy-focused partner chain Midnight. Its ecosystem, however, has also faced a SecondFi exploit, controversy over the Cardano Foundation’s asset transparency, platform shutdowns and the cancellation of its annual summit. With ADA falling to a five-year low and whale holdings becoming more concentrated, Cardano’s governance transition, security risks, use of funds and ecosystem resilience merit continued scrutiny.
