Figure and Hastra Launch Auto Loan Product, Expanding DeFi Tokenized Credit Market

1 reports · First detected 2026-04-14 · Last active 2026-04-14

Figure Technology Solutions launched the onchain credit platform Hastra in 2025, initially deploying it on Solana to tokenize real-world assets such as home equity loans. Its expansion into auto loans takes DeFi private credit beyond mortgages and into mainstream consumer finance. While the move could add new sources of onchain yield, it also introduces the default risk associated with non-prime auto loans.

Figure announced on April 14, 2026, that Democratized Prime, a Figure Markets product, would make auto financing its first new asset class. The offering will launch first on Solana and is expected to expand to Ethereum in June. It uses cash-flow overcollateralization of about 2.4 times and is expected to offer an initial interest rate of approximately 8.6%. Figure has originated more than $22 billion in loans onchain to date.

Figure Technology’s Blockchain Lending Platform Shines as Bernstein Sees Stock Doubling2026-05-17 · 4 reports · similarity 0.80

Founded by Mike Cagney, Figure Technology uses the Provenance blockchain to process home equity lines of credit, or HELOCs, bringing loan origination, trading and asset securitization on-chain. The model can shorten processing times and reduce costs and is also viewed as an important example of traditional credit markets moving toward tokenization.

Figure Technology’s monthly loan originations surpassed $1 billion for the first time in March 2026, with its first-quarter results underscoring the distinctiveness of its blockchain marketplace model. Bernstein sees the company as well positioned to tap a $4 trillion tokenized credit opportunity, rating the stock “outperform” and forecasting that its share price could double.
