Trilitech Launches Metals.io on Tezos to Expand Tokenized Commodities Platform
London-based Tezos research and development company Trilitech launched Uranium.io on EVM-compatible Layer 2 network Etherlink in December 2024, tokenizing physical uranium trading that had previously been largely limited to institutions. Rising demand for electricity and industrial materials from AI data centers has put energy, precious metals and rare metals at the center of the RWA market.
Trilitech formally launched Metals.io on March 30, 2026, initially supporting the physical uranium product xU3O8, tokenized gold and RARE, a basket of strategic metals from Noemon Tech. The existing Uranium.io platform has attracted about 9,000 retail investors, and its minimum purchase was previously lowered to $10, far below the roughly $4.2 million threshold in the over-the-counter market.
