Taiwan Fund Industry Group Seeks Easing of Stock-Trading Curbs on Investment Staff

2 reports · First detected 2026-06-03 · Last active 2026-06-04

Current rules designed to prevent conflicts of interest and insider trading require investment trust personnel handling transactions to report and obtain approval for trades in Taiwan-listed stocks. The Securities Investment Trust and Consulting Association says the regime helps protect fund beneficiaries but also restricts employees’ legitimate asset allocation and could weaken the industry’s ability to recruit and retain talent.

The association is planning to propose that the Financial Supervisory Commission ease the restrictions, initially by allowing regular fixed-amount investments in Taiwan-listed stocks and simplifying trade-by-trade reporting and approval procedures while retaining conflict-of-interest controls. Neither the association nor the FSC has formally announced a proposal date, investment threshold or implementation timetable.
