Abra CEO Says Tokenization Is Wall Street’s Next Crypto Trend

Asset tokenization brings real-world assets or claims on income onto blockchains, allowing them to be divided, transferred and used as collateral in DeFi. Abra CEO Bill Barhydt believes tokenization will forge stronger links between Wall Street and crypto markets than Bitcoin prices or ETF narratives, driving on-chain lending and a new generation of wealth management.

On June 7, 2026, Barhydt said Abra would launch its BTCAF Bitcoin yield product within months. The company’s SPAC merger values it at $750 million and is intended to bring it to Nasdaq under the ticker ABRX in summer 2026. Banks including JPMorgan Chase, Bank of America and Citigroup are separately planning to launch a tokenized deposit network through The Clearing House in the first half of 2027.
