More Than Half of Aspiring Web3 Professionals Struggle to Land First Job, Bitget Says

1 reports · First detected 2026-06-29 · Last active 2026-06-29

The Web3 industry continues to expand, increasing corporate demand for talent in blockchain, crypto finance and related technologies. Newcomers, however, often struggle to enter the field because they lack project experience, internships and industry connections. Crypto exchange Bitget said the core problem is not a shortage of talent, but the absence of systems that translate training into employment, hindering the industry's ability to build a long-term talent pipeline.

Bitget's latest insights report found that more than 54% of young people worldwide aspiring to work in Web3 struggle to secure their first job because they lack practical experience. The report called on the industry to offer more internships, mentorship programs and hands-on opportunities to narrow the gap between candidates' skills and job requirements. The convergence of AI and blockchain is currently the career path most favored by young talent.
