XRPL Proposes AMM Curve Amendment to Boost DeFi Capital Efficiency

1 reports · First detected 2026-05-27 · Last active 2026-05-27

The XRP Ledger's existing automated market maker offers limited swap-curve options, leaving it behind some DeFi blockchains in capital efficiency and slippage control. The upgrade could determine whether XRPL can close this infrastructure gap and provide more efficient liquidity markets for more than $3 billion in tokenized real-world assets on the network.

As of July 20, 2026, the XRPL developer community had submitted a draft “AMM Swappable Curves” amendment proposing three new curves: constant product, concentrated liquidity and StableSwap. If validators approve and activate the proposal, liquidity providers will be able to allocate capital according to each asset's characteristics. The amendment remains in draft form and has not yet formally gone live.
