2 reports · First detected 2026-03-10 · Last active 2026-03-14

Profits at Taiwan’s 13 listed financial holding companies reflect key financial-sector drivers including bank lending, wealth management, securities trading and life insurers’ investments. Their combined after-tax net profit reached NT$74.757 billion in January 2026, up 29.38% from a year earlier, with Cathay Financial leading the group at NT$14.61 billion. Brisk activity in Taiwan’s stock market and improving interest margins put the prospect of breaking NT$100 billion in the first two months of the year in the spotlight.

As of March 13, 2026, the 13 firms had reported combined after-tax net profit of NT$69.942 billion for February, up 48% year on year. Profit for the first two months totaled NT$144.699 billion, a 37% increase that not only cleared NT$100 billion but also set a record for the period. Fubon Financial led with NT$30.69 billion, followed by Cathay Financial with NT$26.62 billion, CTBC Financial with NT$15.526 billion and Taishin Shin Kong Financial with NT$14.99 billion. All four earned more than NT$10 billion.
