Acer Unveils Google Gemini-Powered GI0 AI Glasses at COMPUTEX 2026
AI glasses are becoming an important way for major technology companies to take generative AI beyond smartphones and computers. Acer’s move from PCs into wearables using Google Gemini shows that its AI strategy now extends from laptops to portable visual and voice interfaces. It also puts the company into competition with smart-glasses makers including Meta.
Acer unveiled the 46-gram Acer GI0 on May 29, 2026, ahead of COMPUTEX 2026. The glasses feature a 12-megapixel camera and support voice interaction, real-time image analysis and translation. Acer also introduced the 69-gram AR Vision GR0, which can display a 172-inch virtual screen. The GI0 will start at $299 in the United States and is expected to launch in the fourth quarter. Pricing and availability in Taiwan have not been announced.
