Luminate Bank Acquires First State Mortgage to Expand Home Lending
Luminate Bank’s acquisition of First State Mortgage Services underscores a broader push by regional lenders to expand home-loan distribution through established teams and local customer relationships. The deal is expected to deepen the bank’s presence across the U.S. Midwest, particularly Illinois, while broadening its mortgage product network and increasing its capacity to compete for borrowers in core markets.
Luminate Bank said it will bring aboard 43 First State Mortgage Services employees, including 26 loan originators, as part of the transaction. The companies did not disclose the purchase price or provide signing and closing dates in the available announcement. The added personnel should expand Luminate’s mortgage-origination capacity and geographic reach once the teams and operations are integrated.
