Uni-President Asset Management Rejects AI Bubble Fears, Favors Seven Supply Chains
Concerns are mounting that the rapid expansion of generative AI investment could be creating a bubble. Chen Chuan-yao, a fund manager at Uni-President Asset Management, said cloud providers continue to raise capital spending and AI applications are already delivering initial returns. That suggests demand is not being driven solely by hype and gives Taiwan's supply chain tangible growth momentum.
In her latest analysis, Chen cited continued capital-spending growth and emerging investment returns as two core arguments against the AI bubble thesis. She is bullish on seven Taiwan-listed supply-chain segments expected to face shortages and price increases in the second half, including upstream semiconductors, advanced packaging and liquid cooling. The report did not disclose the complete list of seven segments, investment amounts or the exact publication date.
