Anthropic Joins FCA AI Sandbox to Support Financial Tests

The UK Financial Conduct Authority launched the Supercharged Sandbox in 2025 to give financial-services firms a controlled environment for developing and testing artificial intelligence. Participants receive GPU-enabled infrastructure, datasets and expert support through a platform built on NayaOne’s Digital Sandbox and backed by NVIDIA technology. Participation is free, but does not constitute FCA approval, endorsement or authorization of any product or service.

The FCA said on July 22, 2026, that Anthropic will support the second cohort by giving 21 selected organizations access to Claude, including Claude Code and Claude Cowork. The regulator received 199 applications, up 51% from 132 for the first cohort. Participants, including Scottish Widows, Money Advice Trust and TrueLayer, will test uses spanning agent-led payments, fraud detection, AI governance, financial inclusion and compliance automation. A showcase is scheduled for Nov. 26, with sandbox access ending Dec. 31.
