The deal underscores a broader shift in financial technology from AI-powered customer support toward autonomous agents capable of completing operational tasks. Marr Labs’ technology covers voice, messaging and business-process automation, potentially allowing PayNearMe clients to handle customer requests faster while reducing manual work across payment operations.

PayNearMe said it acquired assets from AI company Marr Labs and plans to embed the acquired agent technology into its PayXM platform. The tools are expected to automate voice calls, messaging and business workflows as part of the payment experience. The companies did not disclose the purchase price, a specific closing date or a timetable for making the integrated capabilities available, leaving the financial impact and rollout schedule unspecified at the time of the reports.

MoonPay Opens PayBox for AI Agent Paymentsfirst seen 2026-07-30 · 1 reports · similarity 0.78 · same topic: Agentic AI

MoonPay has been building payment rails for autonomous software as AI agents move beyond answering questions to executing purchases and trades. It launched MoonPay Agents on Feb. 24, 2026, offering 54 crypto tools across 17 skills and 10 blockchains through non-custodial infrastructure. PayBox extends that strategy to open-internet commerce, addressing the challenge of letting agents pay without exposing users’ raw credentials or taking custody of their funds.

MoonPay unveiled PayBox on July 23, with the service going live on July 28 and access promoted to Claude and ChatGPT users on July 29. Users can prompt, approve and complete transactions inside a conversation while granting narrowly scoped permissions. Agents receive derived credentials such as payment tokens, virtual cards or transaction signatures, while funds move directly between the funding source and recipient. MoonPay did not disclose pricing, transaction limits or launch-volume figures.
