Anthropic and Google Executives Explore AI's Role and Future in Mortgage Lending
Mortgage lending involves application reviews, document processing, risk assessment and customer service, all of which have long required extensive manual work and data verification. Anthropic and Google Cloud see generative AI's significance in its potential to move beyond organizing information and begin contributing to decisions and execution, making it part of financial institutions' daily workflows.
At the recent ICE Experience conference, executives from Anthropic and Google Cloud discussed the current use of AI in mortgage lending and its future direction. An Anthropic executive said the technology was seeing a major breakthrough roughly every four months. The next stage of AI is expected to offer stronger reasoning and task-execution capabilities, but the report did not disclose an implementation date, investment amount or quantified results.
