Over 90% of US College Students Want Crypto Courses, OKX Survey Finds

1 reports · First detected 2026-08-27 · Last active 2026-08-27

As digital assets move further into investing, payments and financial technology, US college students increasingly need a structured understanding of blockchain systems, market risks and regulation. Universities have been slower to incorporate the subject into formal curricula, leaving many students to build their knowledge through online sources whose accuracy and quality can vary widely. The gap raises concerns about financial literacy as crypto becomes more accessible to younger investors.

A recent survey by cryptocurrency exchange OKX found that more than 90% of US college students support universities offering cryptocurrency and blockchain courses. Yet only about 28% of business schools currently provide relevant classes, according to the findings. With formal instruction in short supply, more than 30% of students rely primarily on social media for crypto information, highlighting a widening mismatch between student demand and academic course availability.
