2 reports · First detected 2026-04-22 · Last active 2026-05-28

Rapid growth in demand for artificial intelligence model training and inference is driving orders for advanced processes and high-performance computing chips, making retention of key talent a greater priority for Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. Amid poaching by rivals and competition tied to global capacity expansion, salaries and bonuses have become important tools for stabilizing TSMC’s research, development and manufacturing teams.

TSMC announced its 2026 pay adjustment plan, with average raises of 3% to 5% and increases of up to 9% for senior engineers who receive an S+ performance rating. As AI computing demand surged, the average employee bonus reached NT$2.64 million. Chairman and Chief Executive C.C. Wei also said employee bonuses rose 30% from a year earlier and encouraged staff to buy TSMC shares.
