ADATA Explores Thailand’s EEC for Southeast Asian AI Computing Hub

ADATA Technology, a Taiwanese maker of memory modules and storage devices, is considering expanding into Southeast Asia as generative AI drives demand for data center computing capacity. Thailand’s Eastern Economic Corridor, or EEC, offers industrial clusters, talent, electricity supply and conditions conducive to ESG development, making it a key location under consideration for an AI computing hub.

ADATA Chairman Simon Chen recently led a delegation to meet Thai government agencies and inspect the EEC in Chonburi province. The company hopes to combine local talent and industrial capabilities to develop an internationally competitive computing center. ADATA has not disclosed the exact dates of the visit, investment amount, project scale or launch timetable, and the plan remains under evaluation.
