Lloyds Banking Group Launches Envoy Platform to Scale AI Agents
Lloyds Banking Group, the UK’s largest retail and commercial financial services provider, serves about 27 million customers. The group generated roughly £50 million in value from generative AI in 2025 and expects the technology to deliver more than £100 million in 2026. Scaling AI agents while maintaining cybersecurity and accountability is a central challenge in the highly regulated banking sector.
Lloyds Banking Group announced on April 28, 2026, that it was launching Envoy, an internal platform built with Google Cloud. Envoy provides ready-made templates, risk and security checks, human oversight, continuous performance monitoring and a complete audit trail. Validated AI agents can be listed on an internal Agent Marketplace for reuse across teams, with capabilities set to expand throughout 2026.
