Block Adds 30,000 Sellers to Neighborhoods Network
Block’s Neighborhoods network connects merchants using its Square point-of-sale technology with consumers on Cash App, bringing payments, customer acquisition and rewards into a single local-commerce system. The initiative is strategically important because it gives small businesses a new way to encourage repeat visits while creating tighter links between two of Block’s core platforms and potentially increasing transaction activity across its ecosystem.
Block said Neighborhoods has added 30,000 sellers, significantly expanding the number of local businesses able to reach Cash App customers. Shoppers can earn as much as $10 in Local Cash when they spend at participating merchants and apply those rewards toward future purchases. The program is designed to turn individual transactions into recurring customer relationships, giving merchants an integrated marketing tool while offering consumers a direct financial incentive to return.
