EU to Deploy HammerHAI AI Supercomputer to Bolster Digital Sovereignty and Research Innovation
The European High Performance Computing Joint Undertaking, or EuroHPC JU, is advancing HammerHAI to give European startups, small and medium-sized enterprises, and research institutions access to advanced AI computing power. The initiative also aims to keep sensitive data within Europe, reduce reliance on overseas cloud platforms, and strengthen the EU’s digital sovereignty and research autonomy.
EuroHPC JU has signed a contract with HPE to deploy the NVIDIA Blackwell-based HammerHAI AI supercomputer in Germany, with expected inference performance of more than 15 exaflops. The contract date, procurement value, formal launch date, and exact installation site have not yet been disclosed.
