Alipay+ Adds Hang Seng Bank to Cross-Border QR Network
Alipay+, Ant International’s cross-border mobile payment platform, links digital wallets, banking apps and merchant QR acceptance networks across markets. Adding Hang Seng Bank broadens that ecosystem and could make it easier for travelers and merchants to complete payments using familiar mobile services, as financial institutions across Asia seek to reduce friction in cross-border commerce and capture growing demand for cashless transactions.
Alipay+ said it has added Hang Seng Bank to its cross-border QR payment network, extending its regional digital payments footprint and strengthening connections between banks and payment platforms. The announcement did not specify a launch date, the number of participating merchants, transaction volumes or commercial terms. The partnership nevertheless marks another step in Alipay+’s expansion of interoperable QR payments for cross-border consumers.

The history behind this eventAlipay+ Adds Hang Seng for Cross-Border QR Payments
Alipay+, Ant International’s cross-border payments gateway, connects digital wallets and financial institutions with merchants worldwide, allowing travelers to pay through familiar mobile apps. Adding Hang Seng Bank as its first banking partner in Hong Kong extends that model to customers of one of the city’s major lenders and underscores how banks are integrating QR payment infrastructure into their apps as international travel and demand for simpler cross-border transactions increase.
Ant International and Hang Seng announced the partnership on July 24, 2026, without disclosing a transaction value. Hang Seng Mobile App users can now make QR code payments at more than 100 million merchants across over 55 countries and regions, including China, Europe, the United States, Australia, South Korea and Malaysia. The service supports both “scan to pay” and “show code to pay,” with customers shown the converted payment amount based on the Alipay+ exchange rate before confirming a transaction.
