Alipay+ Partners With Hang Seng Bank on Cross-Border QR Payments
Alipay+, Ant International’s cross-border payments and digitalization platform, links more than 50 digital wallets and financial institutions through a unified gateway. Adding Hang Seng Bank as its first banking partner in Hong Kong extends that model beyond standalone e-wallets and into a mainstream banking app. The tie-up matters as Asian banks seek a larger role in outbound travel spending and consumers increasingly expect familiar mobile-payment tools to work across borders.
Ant International said on July 24, 2026, that the service is now available through the Hang Seng Mobile App’s JustPay feature. Customers can scan a merchant QR code or present their own at more than 100 million Alipay+ merchants in over 55 countries and regions, including the Chinese mainland. Payments are deducted directly from eligible Hong Kong dollar accounts, with the exchange rate shown before confirmation and no transaction fee. A mainland promotion running from July 9 to Aug. 31 offers a random discount of up to 100 yuan on purchases of at least 40 yuan.
