CTBC, Marriott Launch Co-Branded Card for Premium Travelers
Taiwan’s premium credit-card market is shifting beyond cash rebates toward loyalty status and exclusive travel experiences as overseas spending accelerates. Industry-wide, international transactions have risen to about 15% of card spending from roughly 9% five years ago. CTBC Bank and Marriott International are combining payment services with Marriott Bonvoy benefits to court frequent business and leisure travelers, entering a high-end segment long associated with the American Express Platinum Card.
CTBC Bank launched Taiwan’s first co-branded card with an international hotel group on Sept. 16, 2026, offering four card tiers. The premium CTBC Marriott Bonvoy Infinite Card carries an annual fee of NT$22,000. Cardholders can earn one Marriott Bonvoy point for every NT$18 in general spending, NT$8 in overseas in-person purchases and NT$6 at participating Marriott hotels, with eligible customers receiving Marriott Bonvoy Platinum Elite status for one year. CTBC is targeting issuance of 150,000 to 200,000 cards.
