Ctrl Wallet to Shut Down in August After Security Exploit
Ctrl Wallet is a non-custodial cryptocurrency wallet supporting multiple blockchains, with users retaining control of their private keys and assets and the platform unable to recover them on their behalf. The service suffered a security exploit in late June 2026, highlighting how front-end interfaces and transaction features can remain attack surfaces even when a non-custodial wallet does not directly hold user funds.
Ctrl Wallet said it would shut down all trading and swap functions from August 3, 2026, about a month after the late-June exploit. It has not disclosed the amount lost. The platform instructed users to withdraw their assets before the deadline. After the shutdown, only the seed-phrase export function will remain, allowing users to import their wallets into other services and transfer their assets.
