Cryptocurrency Wallets
Cryptocurrency wallets are tools for managing private keys and storing and transferring digital assets. They also serve as key gateways to trading, payments and onchain applications. Recent developments have focused on cybersecurity threats: malware including OkoBot, CrashStealer and PamStealer has targeted wallets through Telegram, fake GitHub repositories and disguised tools. Supply-chain attacks and vulnerabilities in FatFs and Ill Bloom have further increased the risks. Elsewhere, Bitget Wallet is expanding everyday payment services, Russian banks are planning to launch wallets, and Phantom is moving into perpetual futures. Wallets serve both as gateways to digital assets and as targets for attackers, making their security, product viability and expanding use cases important areas to watch.
