DuPont Spin-Off Qnity Expands Taiwan Push for AI Chip Materials
Qnity Electronics became an independent company after DuPont completed the spin-off of its electronics business on Nov. 1, 2025, and began trading on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker “Q” on Nov. 3. Its portfolio spans wafer fabrication, advanced packaging, printed circuit boards, interconnects and thermal management, positioning the supplier to benefit as AI and high-performance computing drive demand for more integrated materials solutions.
On Sept. 4, Qnity Asia-Pacific President Chun-Ta Chen said the company had operated in Taiwan for nearly 50 years, with five production sites and about 1,300 employees. It has also built an advanced polishing laboratory capable of completing roughly 90% of solution validation before customer deployment. Separately, Qnity announced on March 6 a $61.5 million acquisition of a semiconductor research and manufacturing facility in Taiwan, scheduled to begin operations in early 2027.
