AI Agents Take On More Mortgage Decisions and Servicing
U.S. consumer-credit and mortgage providers are increasingly using AI agents for document review, credit scoring, risk assessment and borrower communications, shifting work long handled by loan officers and servicing teams. A National Mortgage News survey of more than 150 mortgage professionals found that over half viewed credit-score analysis and AI-backed underwriting as the most transformative technology available in 2026. The shift promises more capacity in a cyclical industry while raising demands for compliance controls, human oversight and auditable records.
PYMNTS reported on July 20, 2026, that Tavant unveiled its Touchless Servicing Portal and embedded AI agent, MAYA, at the Mortgage Bankers Association Servicing Solutions Conference in Dallas. The borrower-facing system links applications, decisioning and servicing, including one-click moves from mortgage payments to refinancing. Tavant said current deployments have deflected more than 80% of routine servicing inquiries and cut refinance application time by 33%. The platform supports more than 400,000 U.S. borrowers; no investment or transaction value was disclosed.

The history behind this eventnCino Launches Mortgage MCP to Connect AI Agents
nCino provides cloud-based banking software used by financial institutions to manage lending and other workflows. Mortgage operations often span multiple systems, forcing employees to switch tools and complete repetitive tasks manually. Mortgage MCP uses the open-source Model Context Protocol, or MCP, to give compatible AI agents a standardized way to interact with nCino’s mortgage suite, potentially accelerating lenders’ adoption of generative AI.
nCino has launched Mortgage MCP, allowing lenders to connect MCP-compatible AI agents directly to its mortgage platform. The company said mortgage teams can use natural-language conversations to configure systems and carry out workflows, reducing friction from manual work across separate tools. The announcement did not disclose pricing, participating customer numbers, a specific general-availability date or quantified productivity gains.
