Taiwan Securities and Fund Firms Outperform as Corporate Profit Gap Widens

1 reports · First detected 2026-06-25 · Last active 2026-06-25

CRIF’s 2026 ranking of Taiwan’s largest companies highlights how capital-market expansion is reshaping the financial sector’s profit structure. Brisk trading in Taiwan stocks and the growing variety of actively managed ETFs boosted securities firms and asset managers, widening their lead over traditional financial businesses such as banks and insurers.

The latest ranking shows that the securities and investment trust industry’s average net profit margin surpassed 51%, making it one of the strongest-performing sectors among large companies. Meanwhile, the number of loss-making companies rose to its highest level in nearly a decade, reflecting an accelerating concentration of profits among a small group of beneficiary industries. CRIF’s data did not disclose the total losses or the exact number of companies in the red.
