DTCC Plans to Bring Tokenized Assets to Stellar in Wall Street Blockchain Push
The Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation, or DTCC, is a core Wall Street market-infrastructure provider responsible for securities clearing and settlement. Tokenizing stocks, ETFs and U.S. Treasuries could shorten settlement processes and improve asset liquidity, while serving as an important gauge of traditional finance’s adoption of public blockchains.
DTCC plans to connect its tokenized-securities platform to Stellar in 2027, allowing the assets to be issued and settled onchain. It has not disclosed the investment amount or an exact launch date. Stellar’s CEO also said passage of the U.S. CLARITY Act would provide greater regulatory clarity, but its tokenization plans do not depend on the legislation.
