Phison Launches 3.0 Shift Toward Edge AI and Enterprise Storage
Phison Electronics is broadening its business beyond NAND flash controller chips under a strategy dubbed “Phison 3.0,” positioning itself as a provider of integrated on-premise AI and enterprise storage systems. The shift combines AI storage, edge computing and enterprise solid-state drive technology, targeting organizations that need lower latency, stronger data control and private AI deployment without relying entirely on public cloud infrastructure.
Chief Executive Officer K.S. Pua has announced a wider push into AI storage and edge AI platforms, using Phison’s in-house aiDAPTIV technology alongside PCIe Gen 5 and Gen 6 enterprise controller chips. The company has completed proof-of-concept projects with MediaTek and Intel and has entered the market for on-premise AI servers used by major banks and other enterprises. Phison has not disclosed contract values or a timetable for volume deployment.
