Klaviyo Buys Agency to Accelerate AI Agent Push
Klaviyo, a New York-listed automation and B2C customer relationship management platform for consumer brands, has been expanding from email and text marketing into AI agents that can build campaigns and handle service requests. Agency, founded by Drift co-founder Elias Torres, develops AI agents for customer-success teams. The deal reconnects Torres with Klaviyo co-founder Andrew Bialecki, who worked for him at Performable before its 2011 sale to HubSpot; Torres later became an early Klaviyo investor.
Klaviyo said on Aug. 5, 2026, that it acquired Agency, with financial terms not disclosed. Agency had raised $32 million since emerging from stealth in October 2024, comprising a $12 million seed round and a $20 million Series A in November 2025. Torres will become Klaviyo’s chief product officer and lead the combined team’s effort to accelerate development and global rollout of Klaviyo’s AI agent portfolio, including Composer and Customer Agent.
