Binance’s He Yi Cites JPMorgan CEO in Bullish View on Blockchain and Tokenization
JPMorgan CEO Jamie Dimon has repeatedly questioned cryptocurrencies but has acknowledged that blockchain and tokenization could make payments, settlement and asset transfers more efficient. Binance co-founder He Yi echoed that view, reflecting a gradual shift among traditional financial institutions and the crypto industry toward the practical potential of the underlying technology.
He recently reposted an interview with Dimon, describing current market conditions by saying, “The storm and the future have arrived together, but the bigger the storm, the more expensive the fish.” He said regulatory pressure and price volatility also create opportunities. Reports did not give the exact dates of the interview or repost, nor did they cite any investment amount or transaction value, focusing mainly on the pair’s positive views of blockchain and tokenization.

The history behind this eventJPMorgan CEO Jamie Dimon Warns Blockchain and Asset Tokenization Will Reshape Financial Competition
Blockchain can turn assets such as payments, bonds and funds into on-chain tokens, shortening settlement times and reducing the need for intermediaries. This directly threatens banks’ deposit, fee and asset management businesses. JPMorgan launched JPM Coin in 2019 and later renamed Onyx as Kinexys as it continued building an institutional-grade blockchain network.
In his annual shareholder letter published on April 6, 2026, Jamie Dimon warned that stablecoin issuers, smart-contract platforms and tokenization providers had emerged as new competitors, urging JPMorgan to accelerate the rollout of its own technology. Kinexys is expanding toward a target of $10 billion in daily transaction volume. The bank generated $185.6 billion in revenue and $57 billion in net income in 2025.
