FBI Arrests Florida Man in $220,000 Steam Crypto Theft

The FBI alleges that 21-year-old Florida resident Zyaire Dontaevious Zamarion Wilkins financed a remote-access Trojan and worked with accomplices to distribute malware through eight games on Valve’s Steam platform. The operation infected about 8,000 devices between May 2024 and February 2026, illustrating how criminals can exploit trusted game storefronts to target users holding cryptocurrency and obtain wallet credentials.

Federal agents arrested Wilkins on July 14, 2026. Investigators said the group accessed about 80 cryptocurrency wallets and stole at least $220,000. Bitcoin linked to the scheme was used through Bitrefill to buy more than 150 gift cards, many funding an Uber Eats account that placed over 500 orders worth more than $9,000. Delivery addresses and timestamps helped identify Wilkins, while a search recovered three wallet seed phrases, including one for Monero.
