Peter Thiel Exits Nvidia Stake, Shifts to Microsoft and Apple as Debate Grows Over AI Race
Nvidia’s AI accelerators have made it a cornerstone of generative AI infrastructure, while Microsoft is driving enterprise adoption through Azure and Copilot and Apple reaches consumers through its device ecosystem. A portfolio reshuffle by Peter Thiel’s Thiel Macro LLC has therefore been viewed by the market as a signal that capital is moving from chip suppliers to platform companies. However, Form 13F filings disclose only quarter-end positions and cannot by themselves prove that Thiel believes AI is a bubble.
Thiel Macro LLC filed a Form 13F with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission on November 14, 2025, covering holdings as of September 30. The filing showed that the fund sold its entire third-quarter position of 537,742 Nvidia shares, which had a reported value of $84.958 million at the end of June. The fund also initiated positions of 49,000 Microsoft shares worth $25.3796 million and 79,181 Apple shares worth $20.1619 million, for a combined $45.5415 million.
