CleanSpark Shares Surge 22% After Georgia Data Center Lease
CleanSpark is a Nasdaq-listed U.S. Bitcoin miner with substantial proprietary power capacity and data center assets in Georgia and elsewhere. As Bitcoin’s halving squeezed mining margins, miners increasingly began redirecting power capacity toward AI and high-performance computing hosting. Peers including Core Scientific and TeraWulf have seen their shares more than double on similar long-term contracts. Investors have therefore been watching closely for the next successful mining-sector transition, with power-rich CleanSpark long viewed as a potential candidate.
CleanSpark announced in July 2026 that it had signed a 20-year lease for a Georgia data center, which is expected to generate about $6.6 billion in revenue over the contract’s term. The agreement formally marks the company’s entry into the AI and high-performance computing infrastructure market. Its shares surged 22% in a single day after the announcement, reflecting strong investor expectations for its shift from Bitcoin mining to supplying AI computing capacity. The long-term contract also provides a stable revenue stream beyond mining income.
