NICS President Ying-Dar Lin Unveils 2.0 Transformation Vision to Bolster National Digital Resilience With AI

Taiwan’s National Institute of Cyber Security is responsible for national-level cybersecurity technology research and defensive support. President Ying-Dar Lin has proposed a “NICS 2.0” transformation to bridge the gap between research and frontline operations. The initiative aims to strengthen Taiwan’s overall digital resilience as AI accelerates the evolution of cyberattacks and defenses and critical infrastructure faces growing digital threats.

Lin unveiled the latest plans in coverage related to the 2026 Taiwan Cybersecurity Yearbook. The institute will integrate AI into cybersecurity monitoring, threat analysis and decision-making, while building a “Cybersecurity Governance Platform” that converts data from multiple systems into visual information to advance data-driven national defense. The report did not disclose a specific launch date or investment amount.
