Ramp Launches Agent Cards for Autonomous AI Payments
AI agents can research products and negotiate purchases, but allowing software to spend corporate money creates risks around overspending, credential theft and accountability. Ramp is positioning its financial operations platform as a control layer for this emerging agent economy, giving tools such as ChatGPT and Claude payment authority while preserving company budgets, merchant restrictions, approval chains and an auditable record of each action.
Ramp launched Agent Cards on March 11, 2026, issuing a fresh PAN and CVV for a single merchant and capping it at the approved purchase amount. The credential expires after its first authorization or 12 hours. Available through API, Model Context Protocol and the Ramp CLI, the service uses four controls — identity, policy, capabilities and audit trail — to carry an agent-led purchase from checkout through receipts, memos and accounting classification.

The history behind this eventRamp, FIS Launch AI Initiatives for Spending and Cybersecurity
Generative AI is creating two distinct challenges for financial companies. Token-based pricing can make corporate technology costs volatile and difficult for finance teams to allocate, while increasingly capable models can also discover and exploit weaknesses in software that underpins payments and banking. Ramp, a corporate card and spend-management company, and Fidelity National Information Services, the bank technology and payments processor known as FIS, are addressing those risks from opposite directions: cost governance and cyber defense.
On July 16, 2026, Ramp launched AI Token Spend Management, a dashboard covering providers including Anthropic, OpenAI, Gemini and Cursor. Developed with more than 1,300 businesses managing over 100 trillion tokens a month, the tool identifies weekly changes, recommends controls and found potential savings equal to 12% of monthly AI spending for the average business; one customer uncovered $10,000 in monthly waste. The same day, FIS said it had joined Anthropic’s Project Glasswing and was testing the restricted-access Mythos 5 model to scan and assess its own systems for vulnerabilities.
Ramp Launches AI Agents to Automate Corporate Procurement
Fintech company Ramp is extending its corporate spend-management services into procurement, targeting time-consuming tasks such as handling employee requests, finding vendors, reviewing contracts and verifying compliance. As companies rapidly adopt AI software, comparing product capabilities, cybersecurity terms and pricing has become more difficult, increasing the importance of automated procurement and transaction-based benchmarks.
Ramp has launched AI agents on its procurement platform to automatically process employee requests, screen vendors, review contract terms and conduct compliance checks. The agents also draw on millions of transactions accumulated on the platform to provide pricing and market benchmarks. Reports did not specify a formal launch date, product pricing, implementation costs or the exact amount customers could save.
