TD Bank Deploys AI Agent to Cut Mortgage Reviews to Minutes

TD Bank Group has introduced generative AI into its mortgage-review process with the launch of its first AI agent. Mortgage applications involve numerous documents, and manually verifying identity and financial information is time-consuming and prone to bottlenecks. Automation therefore affects not only operating costs but also how quickly customers receive lending decisions.

TD Bank’s newly deployed AI agent can automatically analyze identity documents and lengthy application materials, reducing a manual review process that previously took about 15 hours to just minutes. The bank has not disclosed the exact launch date, investment amount or number of mortgage applications covered, but the deployment marks an important starting point for its broader use of AI.
