Ajinomoto, Daikin Expand Taiwan Footprint for AI Chip Supply Chain

Taiwan’s role as a global hub for advanced chipmaking and packaging is drawing materials suppliers closer to customers as artificial-intelligence computing and data-center servers fuel demand for sophisticated chip substrates. Japan’s Ajinomoto and Daikin Industries are expanding locally to accelerate product development and technical support while strengthening the resilience of a supply chain increasingly critical to AI hardware.

Ajinomoto and Daikin are enlarging their Taiwan operations and establishing research and technical application centers, Nikkei reported. The facilities are intended to shorten material testing, qualification and customer-response cycles within Taiwan’s semiconductor ecosystem, deepening the companies’ links with the island’s AI chip supply chain. Investment amounts and specific opening dates for the centers had not been disclosed at the time of the report.
