OpenAI Launches Workspace Agents for Persistent Cloud Execution and Cross-App Automation

OpenAI has launched Workspace Agents to replace Custom GPTs for enterprise users. Powered by the Codex cloud execution environment, the product is designed to turn AI from a question-and-answer chatbot into a digital collaborator that can retain work context, carry out long-running tasks and share results with teams.

Workspace Agents can continue working in the cloud, gathering information across enterprise applications such as Slack and Google Drive, coordinating workflows and completing tasks even when users are offline. OpenAI plans to introduce credits-based pricing after May, but has not yet disclosed credit prices for individual plans or a formal billing start date.
