OpenAI and Anthropic Markets on Hyperliquid Shut Down

3 reports · First detected 2026-06-16 · Last active 2026-06-16

Hyperliquid's HIP-3 framework allows third-party teams to create and operate their own perpetual futures markets. Ventuals used the framework to launch prediction markets tied to the valuations of privately held artificial intelligence companies OpenAI and Anthropic. Such products allow traders to bet on corporate valuations and market expectations. Their closure also underscores the competition among decentralized derivatives platforms for liquidity and scale.

As of July 19, 2026, Ventuals had announced the end of the project and closed the OpenAI and Anthropic perpetual futures markets it created through HIP-3. Reports did not disclose the value of outstanding positions or the scale of liquidations. Meanwhile, TradeXYZ has captured nearly 97% of trading volume in comparable markets. The departure of several operators shows that trading activity is rapidly concentrating around a single provider.
