AI Demand Tightens 2027 DRAM Supply as NAND Market Loosens

1 reports · First detected 2026-07-30 · Last active 2026-07-30

Artificial intelligence infrastructure is reshaping the memory market as cloud providers expand servers built around high-bandwidth memory, or HBM. TrendForce expects those purchases to crowd out capacity for conventional DRAM, keeping supply tight through 2027. NAND Flash faces a different outlook: subdued consumer-electronics demand and expanding output from more advanced, higher-layer manufacturing processes are setting the two major memory segments on diverging paths.

TrendForce’s latest research forecasts AI applications will remain the main driver of memory demand in 2027, with robust procurement for AI servers and HBM sustaining tight DRAM conditions. NAND Flash supply, by contrast, is expected to loosen in the second half of 2027 as higher-layer capacity comes online while consumer demand remains constrained. The research did not disclose procurement values or provide specific shipment or supply-growth figures.
