Carpe Launches Minerva AI Underwriting Engine

1 reports · First detected 2026-08-25 · Last active 2026-08-25

Underwriting small-business risks requires insurers to reconcile company data, risk indicators and carrier-specific rules, a process that can be slow and inconsistent when information is fragmented. Insurance data and AI provider Carpe has introduced the Minerva Reasoning Engine to turn real-time business information into traceable underwriting guidance, aiming to help commercial insurers make faster and more consistent decisions while retaining evidence for review.

Minerva combines Carpe’s live business data with an insurer’s underwriting rules to recommend whether to quote, decline or refer an application for human review. Each recommendation is accompanied by supporting evidence, giving underwriters a basis to validate the system’s reasoning rather than relying on an unexplained automated score. Carpe is targeting small commercial insurance workflows with the product, but did not disclose pricing, customer adoption figures or a general-availability date in the announcement.
