Insurance Technology (InsurTech)

Insurance technology, or InsurTech, uses AI, data analytics, biometrics and digital platforms to reshape product design, underwriting, enrollment, claims and policyholder services. Taiwanese insurers have recently accelerated the adoption of AI, relationship graphs and facial-recognition enrollment, while launching products covering dementia, wellness incentives, surgical care and retirement protection. Internationally, AI insurance startup Corgi has completed a major funding round. Regulators are also promoting digital enrollment and inclusive finance for all ages. Key issues to watch are whether technology can improve efficiency and accessibility while adequately addressing personal data, risk pricing, talent and consumer rights.
