SinoPac Securities Upgrades Stock Gift Card, Teams With FamilyMart

1 reports · First detected 2026-07-30 · Last active 2026-07-30

SinoPac Securities launched its Stock Gift Card in May 2025, allowing recipients to convert the card’s face value into funds for Taiwan share purchases through its Feng Cun Gu platform. The product moved from a regulatory sandbox into commercial operation, giving the brokerage a low-friction way to introduce first-time investors to equities. Its expansion into corporate gifts and retail promotions also broadens the reach of digital finance beyond conventional brokerage channels.

On May 26, 2026, SinoPac Securities added a “designated security” option that lets corporate buyers restrict redemption to a specified stock. FamilyMart began selling NT$399 Ghost Festival gift boxes on July 22, bundling cards redeemable for TSMC shares and offering up to NT$3,000 in investment value. SinoPac said cumulative Stock Gift Card sales had exceeded NT$100 million, while the tie-up places an investment product in a nationwide convenience-store setting.

The history behind this event
Taiwan’s First Fintech Pilot, Stock Gift Card, Formally Begins Commercial Operations2026-07-15 · 4 reports · similarity 0.83

As part of efforts to advance financial inclusion and lower investment barriers, Taiwan’s Financial Supervisory Commission promoted fintech regulatory experiments, including SinoPac Securities’ Stock Gift Card, the first such pilot in Taiwan to successfully enter commercial operation. The product brings stock investing into everyday gift-giving, allowing people to use the cards for birthdays or corporate gifts. Once redeemed, the funds can cover settlement payments and fees for recurring investments or odd-lot trades in securities including TSMC and the 0050 ETF, breaking down traditional barriers to opening brokerage accounts and investing.

The project formally entered commercial operation in July 2026. During the trial, it attracted more than 90,000 participants, generated nearly 50,000 new accounts for SinoPac Securities and recorded almost NT$60 million in cumulative redemptions. Following commercialization, the annual purchase limit per person was raised to NT$3 million. The cards are available in seven denominations ranging from NT$100 to NT$6,000 and can be redeemed for up to two years, significantly increasing convenience for individuals and businesses.
