Machi Big Brother Boosts 25x Ether Long to $9.2 Million

5 reports · First detected 2026-08-18 · Last active 2026-08-26

Taiwanese entertainer and crypto investor Jeffrey Huang, known as Machi Big Brother, has become a closely watched high-leverage trader on decentralized perpetual-futures platform Hyperliquid. Reports say Huang has endured nearly 500 liquidations, underscoring the risks of his strategy. While 25-times leverage can magnify gains from an Ether rally, even a modest move against the position can rapidly erase his collateral and trigger forced selling.

On-chain data showed Huang recently increased his Ether long position to 4,860 tokens, with a notional value of about $9.225 million. The reports did not specify the exact transaction date. Using 25-times leverage raised the liquidation threshold to $1,875.80, leaving a price cushion of only about 1.18% at the time. A relatively small decline in Ether could therefore liquidate the position despite its multimillion-dollar face value.

Machi Big Brother Disputes 84-Fold Crypto Return Claim2026-08-26 · 1 reports · similarity 0.82

Taiwanese crypto trader Jeffrey Huang, widely known as Machi Big Brother, has drawn renewed attention over the performance of his perpetual-futures account. Returns on leveraged positions can be distorted when a rebound from a deeply depleted balance is compared only with the account’s low point, without accounting for additional capital deposits or earlier losses. That distinction is central to assessing whether the reported gains represented investment profit or merely a recovery of funded capital.

Huang recently rejected a Taiwanese media report claiming he had generated an 84-fold return. On-chain data showed the account had previously lost 99% of its value before rebounding by nearly NT$300 million over five days as Ether and other crypto assets advanced. However, cumulative net deposits into the account totaled about NT$841 million, indicating that the headline return differed sharply from a calculation based on Huang’s total committed capital.

Prominent crypto investor Jeffrey Huang, known as “Machi Big Brother,” has long traded on decentralized perpetual futures exchange Hyperliquid, frequently taking highly leveraged long positions in ETH. Over the past year, Huang’s Hyperliquid account has accumulated losses of more than $77 million, equivalent to about NT$2.52 billion. ETH recently came close to $2,000, and several leveraged long positions were liquidated, leaving the account with a balance of only about $100,000. The market is also watching whether he has stopped adding margin.

Machi Big Brother Jeffrey Huang Returns to Crypto With Leveraged BTC, ETH and HYPE Longs2026-03-23 · 2 reports · similarity 0.87

Prominent crypto trader Jeffrey Huang, known as “Machi Big Brother,” has long used high leverage to trade crypto assets including Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH) and Hyperliquid’s HYPE token. Such positions can amplify gains when prices rise but also risk forced liquidation during sharp declines, making his holdings closely watched by the market.

Huang recently re-entered the market with long positions in BTC, ETH and HYPE and currently has more than $1.4 million in unrealized gains. However, his cumulative losses since June 2025 reached as much as $29 million, including a weekly loss of $1.42 million. He also added to a 25x-leveraged ETH long position and remains about $27.2 million short of breaking even overall.
